After identifying a potential threat to your World Heritage Site, can you design a solution to this problem? Your solution could be anything, if it meets this need. Maybe it’s better educational signposting to teach people to respect the site. Maybe it’s a robot that can do something to help protect the site. Be creative!

The potential threat is overuse of the world heritage site by too many tourists.

My idea is to have statues of kangaroos that can talk! These statues would be placed at different spots around the World Heritage Site. Each time a visitor puts litter into the bin part of the statue, the statue would tell them a fun fact about kangaroos. For example, a kangaroo statue might say, "Did you know kangaroos can hop at speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour?"

After the fact, the visitor can ask the statue any question about the kangaroo for three minutes. The statue will answer and explain more interesting things about the kangaroo's life and habitat. This way, people will learn a lot and be excited to keep the place clean. Also, it will help protect the environment because people will be more aware of how important it is to take care of nature and animals.

In addition to the interactive animal statues, a companion app could enhance the visitor experience and promote conservation. Integrated with bins across the site, the app would reward users with virtual coins for disposing of litter. A daily leaderboard would show top contributors, fostering competition and community spirit. The highest scorers could receive prizes like free tours or special souvenirs. This system incentivises proper waste disposal while educating and engaging visitors in site preservation.
